Part A

Passage 1:
The languages we speak are so different from one another as to be mutually unintelligible. Yet, these differences are differences of detail such as the different combinations of sounds we use. //
In their broad outlines in their basic principles, and even in the ways they are used in communication, human languages have a great deal in common. //
For example, speakers of any language use the finite number of rules produce and understand an infinite number of sentences. These rules comprise what we call the grammar of language. //
The grammatical system of a language includes the way words way be combined into phrases and sentence, and the way in which sounds and meanings are related. The grammatical system of language is creative, which is a property unique to the human species.
Passage 2:
After leaving the university, I spent nearly five years researching the book on leadership. I travelled around America, spending time with go of the most effective, successful leaders in the nation. //
My goal was to find these leaders' common traits. The fast was more difficult than I had expected. For a while, I sensed much diversity than commonality among them. //
The group included both rational and intuitive thinkers. Some were well-dressed and some were not; some were well-spoken, eloquent leaders and some didn't talk much. //
I was finally able to come to some conclusions, of which perhaps the most important is the distinction between leaders and managers. Leaders are people who do the right things and managers and those who do things right.

中国政府将根据自己的国情和人民的意愿，在保持社会稳定的前提下，加强民主法制建设和精神文明建设。// 中国将一如既往的积极参与国际人权领域的活动，为促进国际人权事业的健康发展作出贡献。//
